TALK LIKE ME Back home

Website & beta privacy

Know where your
words go.

Your saved history and preferences live on your iPhone. Online translation sends the relevant words and context to the services that generate your answer.

Updated October 31, 2026 for this website and the current hosted beta. Operated by C & Lee LLC. Contact: support@talklikeme.app.

This website

The demonstration uses prepared, fictional examples. It doesn't send those examples to a live translation service or send a message on your behalf. This website doesn't take payments.

The beta signup opens a separate form hosted by Zoho Campaigns. The form is not embedded in this landing page. Support email links open your mail app; you choose whether to send the message. If you do, we use the address and information you include to respond.

The website host may process technical information needed to deliver and protect the site. You don't need an account to browse this website.

On talklikeme.app and www.talklikeme.app, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand overall visits, pages viewed, referring websites, and page performance. Its browser beacon sends page and referrer information and performance measurements to Cloudflare. It does not use cookies or browser storage to identify visitors. We do not add advertising trackers or send signup email addresses, signup answers, or app translation history to Web Analytics. See Cloudflare's explanation of these measurements.

If you allow optional website analytics, we use Google Analytics to measure visits and a small set of interactions, such as choosing a prepared demo or opening the signup form. Google Analytics may use cookies to distinguish visits and processes technical information from your browser. We send only approved page paths and interaction labels, not signup addresses, answers, translation text, or full referring URLs. A signup-link click is not a confirmed subscription.

Google Analytics stays off until you allow it. We keep advertising features off and honor Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track by keeping these optional measurements off. Your analytics choice is saved in this browser; use Analytics preferences in the footer to change it. Declining or withdrawing permission does not prevent you from using the website. Withdrawal stops further optional measurements and clears accessible Google Analytics cookies; it does not erase measurements already received by Google. See Google's privacy policy. These website choices do not change your mailing-list subscriptions or the app's settings.

Beta interest and optional updates

The signup form asks for your email address. It includes a beta-interest topic and a separate, optional product-updates topic, which starts unchecked. We use your address and topic choices to manage those subscriptions and contact you about the interests you selected. An optional “How did you hear about us?” answer helps us understand how people find Talk Like Me. You can keep “Prefer not to say” selected. The form does not ask for your name, phone number, platform, or translation history.

Zoho Campaigns handles the subscription and sends an email asking you to confirm your address. Follow that email's confirmation step to complete signup. Confirmation joins an interest list; it does not create an app account, issue a beta access code, guarantee an invitation, or start a paid subscription.

Zoho processes signup information and subscription records for this mailing list. The hosted form uses reCAPTCHA to reduce automated submissions. Zoho and the CAPTCHA provider may also process technical information needed to deliver and protect that form. See Zoho's privacy policy and Google's privacy policy for their processing details.

Use the unsubscribe link in mailing-list emails to stop those emails. For help changing your preferences or requesting deletion of signup information, contact support@talklikeme.app. Unsubscribing is not the same as deleting every record: subscription, consent, and suppression records may be retained to document preferences and honor opt-outs. Signup information is separate from the app's local history and hosted translation requests.

TLM Intelligence: translation and learning

TLM Intelligence is our name for Talk Like Me's AI-assisted translation and learning features. These features use external services as described below.

In Hosted beta mode, submitted text, relevant Background, conversation context, and communication preferences pass through Cloudflare to Anthropic's Claude service. This is how online translations, explanations, and learning material are generated.

Live Draft Prediction is a separate option, off by default. If enabled, it can send unfinished drafts and relevant context after a pause, before you tap Translate. Reusing a local saved answer doesn't create a new provider request.

The hosted app asks for your agreement to online processing before connecting beta access. You can decline and use the available offline material. Live Draft Prediction and Natural Voice have separate controls.

Optional natural voice

If you enable Natural Voice and start playback, the text to be spoken passes through Cloudflare to ElevenLabs in Hosted beta mode. Word pronunciation can include nearby text to improve pronunciation. Audio is cached on the device for reuse. Apple speech is also available.

What's saved on your device

Local information includes your drafts, translation history, named conversations, communication preferences, saved lessons, vocabulary, cached answers, audio, and app settings. The current app has no account-based history sync feature.

Your beta access code is stored in the device's Keychain. It is an access credential, not a message to translate. Keep it private.

What the hosted beta keeps

The application backend stores a tester identifier, a one-way hash of the invitation code, access status, expiration and limits, usage counters, and limited request-accounting records. It doesn't store raw message text, translated answers, or audio as a history.

Request journals expire after 48 hours. Old usage periods expire two days after their period ends. Tester access settings remain until handled by the operator. These are application-level storage rules; Cloudflare, Anthropic, and ElevenLabs also process requests under their own policies.

Not keeping a translation history in our backend does not mean every service immediately deletes a request. Providers may retain information for operating, securing, and administering their services. We do not promise zero retention across providers. See Cloudflare's privacy policy, Anthropic's Privacy Center, and ElevenLabs' privacy policy.

Diagnostics and feedback

The app keeps local diagnostic information such as counts, timings, failure categories, and estimated usage. Any feedback notes you type are saved as entered.

Automatic uploading of translation diagnostics is not implemented in the current beta. If introduced later, it will need a separate explanation and choice before sharing begins.

Internal development builds only

The following tools are for internal owner/testing builds, not the standard hosted consumer experience.

Direct-provider mode sends requests directly to the configured provider rather than through the hosted beta. An optional Translation Recorder starts off and, when enabled, keeps submitted messages, answers, relevant context, and timing on the device for up to 14 days, 500 translations, or 8 MB. Content remains local until you choose to share an export. Review any export that includes private conversations or names.

Your choices and questions

Settings → Data & Privacy provides controls to clear history, reset your communication profile, or delete app data on that device. Disconnecting Beta Access stops new hosted requests from that device. It doesn't revoke the server invitation or erase service-accounting records.

Local deletion cannot withdraw exports or emails you've already shared. For questions about access, information you sent us, or hosted beta records, email support@talklikeme.app.

Talk Like Me is not directed at children under 13. This website's examples are fictional, including the family conversations.

Request access, correction, or deletion

Email support@talklikeme.app with the subject “Talk Like Me data request.” Tell us whether your request concerns beta service records, a support message, or the mailing list, and whether you want access, a copy, a correction, or deletion. You do not need to include your translation history, an invitation code, or any API key.

We may need limited information to verify that the records belong to you before disclosing or deleting them. Hosted beta access uses a tester identifier rather than an email account, so we confirm that connection through the invitation process. We will explain what we can locate, any information we must retain, and the outcome. We handle requests and any appeal of a decision within the time required by applicable law; you can use the same address to ask us to review a decision.

Deleting local app data, ending hosted access, unsubscribing from emails, and deleting provider-held information are separate actions. Tell us which you need. We cannot recover device-only history from the server or recall an export you already shared. Limited records may need to remain for security, accounting, honoring opt-outs, or legal obligations. We will explain any such retention when responding.

Changes to this notice

We update the date on this page when this notice changes. If a change materially affects how we use your information, we will provide an appropriate notice, such as in the app or by email when we have a relevant contact address. Where a change requires your permission, we will ask before that processing starts.
